Has your TSA pre-check membership expired or are you trying to renew a TSA membership that is expiring soon? You will need to renew your membership in order to continue having the benefits of TSA pre check. You can renew your TSA membership by clicking the link here on the Transportation Security Administrations Universal Enroll webpage. You can renew after it has expired or up to 6 months prior to expiration.

How much does TSA Pre Check Renewal Cost?

The cost of membership is $85 for 5-years, a fee that is definitely worth the money if you fly multiple times a year. The convenience of not having to take off your shoes, laptops, iPads, belts and jackets is pretty great if you travel often, not to mention the (usually) much shorter lines to get through security.

What info do you need to renew your TSA membership

You will need a few things in order to renew your membership. If you are handling renewal for your wife, husband, kids or someone else, you will need to know all the following info:

  • Your current Known Traveler Number (a number that usually starts with TT. If it does not you will need to contact the agency that issues your KTN)
  • Your passport number
  • Passport of passport issue
  • Passport expiration date
  • Date of Birth
  • Last Legal Name
  • Email address
  • Current mailing address
  • Current physical address (if different from your mailing address)
  • Past physical address if you have not lived at your current residence for 5 years or longer
  • Billing address (if different)
  • Credit card to pay the $85

How easy is it to renew your TSA membership online?

Renewing your TSA membership is very easy to do. You will be guided through a series of screens like these below:

Step 1: Enter your current TSA Pre Check Information

Step 2: Answer program eligibility questions

Step 3: Answer survey questions

Step 4: Select fee option

Unless you have an authorization code, there really is no option. Most people will not have an authorization code here so simply leave it blank and click “next”.

Step 5: Enter your credit card information

If you are wondering what credit cards does the TSA accept, the TSA accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit cards for renewing a TSA membership.

After you enter your credit card info and click “order”, you should see a screen like this:

You should receive an email after you click “done”.

That’s it! Overall a pretty simple process.

Can I use my Global Entry card instead to use the TSA line?

No, at this time you still need a TSA card to be able to use the TSA pre-check line.
